ClassPacer helps activity schools track their students' skills and share progress with families. Much of the information in it is about children, so we keep it to the minimum, keep each school's data apart from every other school's, and never sell it or use it for advertising.
Who is responsible
Each school decides what goes into ClassPacer about its students and families, and is responsible for it. We handle that information on the school's behalf, only to run ClassPacer for them. For questions about what a school holds about you or your child, you can ask the school or us.
What we store
- Students: first and last name, optionally a birth date and a photo (added by the school or the child's parent), their level and classes, their progress on each skill with who marked it and when, notes from instructors, and certificates. Nothing else about children.
- People who sign in (owners, instructors, parents, adult students): name, email address, optionally a phone number and a photo, and which schools they belong to and in what role.
- Schools: name, address in ClassPacer, activity, logo, colors, certificate design, and subscription status.
- Payments: schools pay through Stripe. Stripe holds the card details; we never see or store card numbers. We keep the Stripe customer and subscription references and whether the school has paid.
- Technical: sign-in cookies to keep you signed in, and short-lived server logs (such as errors) used to keep the service running. No advertising or tracking cookies.
Who can see it
- Everything belongs to one school; nobody at another school can see it. The database itself enforces this.
- Within a school: owners see everything, instructors see the students in their classes, parents see only their own children, and adult students see only themselves. Parents' contact details are visible to the school's owners only.
- The ClassPacer team only looks at a school's data when needed to support that school, fix a problem or keep the service secure.
Services we use
These companies process data for us, only to provide their part of ClassPacer:
- Supabase: the database and sign-in (servers in Sydney, Australia).
- Vercel: hosting the website.
- Resend: sending sign-in and invite emails.
- Stripe: taking schools' subscription payments.
How long we keep it
As long as the school uses ClassPacer. A school owner can remove students and people at any time. When a school closes its account we delete its data within 90 days, except billing records the law requires us to keep.
Your choices
- Parents can ask for a copy of their family's data, or for it to be corrected or deleted, through their school or by emailing support@classpacer.com from the email they sign in with. We answer within 30 days.
- You can stop receiving emails from ClassPacer by asking your school to remove you, or by emailing us.
Security
Data travels encrypted between your device and ClassPacer and is stored encrypted by our database provider. Access rules in the database decide what each person can see, and automated tests check them on every change. If we ever learn of a breach affecting your information, we tell the affected schools promptly and as the law requires.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we tell school owners before it applies. See also our Terms of Service.
